FAQ

Can I cancel or change my subscription?

Yes, from your account at any time. Change frequency, skip a delivery, or cancel outright — no email, no phone call.

Where do the ingredients come from?

Glucosamine HCl from shrimp and crab, chondroitin sulfate from porcine sources, and Perna canaliculus (green-lipped mussel) from New Zealand waters. Sources are printed on the label rather than folded into a proprietary blend. If your dog has a shellfish sensitivity, this formula is not the right fit.

Is this only for German Shorthaired Pointers?

The formula works for any dog dosed by weight. The brand doesn't. This was built around the way GSPs actually live — high mileage, high impact, no off switch — and that's who we're building the community for.

Are German Shorthaired Pointers prone to hip problems?

GSPs are generally a sound, athletic breed, but like most medium-to-large sporting dogs they can be affected by hip and elbow dysplasia, and the sheer volume of high-speed, high-impact work they do puts real wear on healthy joints over time. Reputable breeders screen hips and elbows; owners manage the rest through weight, conditioning and daily support.

When should I start joint support for my GSP?

Earlier than most people do. Joint supplements are maintenance, so the dogs who benefit most are the ones who start while they still feel invincible — typically once a dog is fully grown, around 12 to 18 months, and sooner for dogs in heavy field work. Waiting for a limp means you're managing damage rather than preventing wear.

How long before I see a difference?

Joint ingredients accumulate rather than act immediately. Most owners looking for a change watch across four to eight weeks of consistent daily dosing. If your dog is already comfortable, the point isn't a visible change at all — it's the stiffness that doesn't show up in year six.

What should a good hip and joint chew actually contain?

Glucosamine and chondroitin as the cartilage foundation, MSM for everyday inflammation support, and ideally green-lipped mussel, which brings joint nutrients, amino acids and omega fatty acids in one whole-food ingredient. Vitamin C and manganese play supporting roles in collagen and cartilage formation. Every amount should be printed in milligrams.

How do I dose by weight?

Half a chew under 15 lbs, one chew for 15–45 lbs, two chews for 45–75 lbs, and three chews over 75 lbs. Most adult GSPs sit in the 45–75 lb band, so two soft chews daily is the usual answer.

My dog has a shellfish allergy. Is this safe?

No. Glucosamine HCl in this formula comes from shrimp and crab, and green-lipped mussel is a shellfish. If your dog has a known shellfish sensitivity, this formula is not the right fit and you should talk to your vet about a plant-based or alternative-source option.

Does joint support replace a vet visit?

No. Limping, yelping, sudden reluctance to use a leg, or a visible change in gait needs a diagnosis, not a supplement. Start with your veterinarian, rule out injury and dysplasia, then use daily support as part of the long-term plan.
